Parent Support and Advocacy for Children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Are you ready for summer? We have events coming up in Ottawa and Elmvale!
In Ottawa, we invite parents, family & friends, professionals, and KIDS of all ages, to join us on Saturday, June 2 10:00 - 12:30 for fun-filled activities, games and a fundraising BBQ! More information here.
In Elmvale, our favourite annual event is coming up: A Special Day for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Kids and their Families at Elmvale Jungle Zoo! Just an hour's drive north of Toronto, 20 minutes west of Barrie. Hosted by Ontario Hands & Voices and Deaf Access Simcoe Muskoka. Tickets must be purchased in advance, either online via PayPal, or at the Deaf Access Simcoe Muskoka office in Barrie. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
Other organizations are hosting events as well, including summer camps.
Hands & Voices is dedicated to supporting families with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing without a bias around communication modes or methodology. We're a parent-driven, non-profit organization providing families with the resources, networks, and information they need to improve communication access and educational outcomes for their children. Our outreach activities, parent/professional collaboration, and advocacy efforts are focused on enabling Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children to reach their highest potential.
